Christine Drazan
Christine Renee Drazan (born May 28, 1972) is an American politician who served in the Oregon House of Representatives from the 39th district from 2019 to 2022, as a member of the
Republican Party. During her tenure in the state house she served as the minority leader from 2019 to 2021. She was the Republican nominee in the 2022 Oregon gubernatorial election, which she lost to Democrat Tina Kotek.

2nd Amendment? Forget it
While Drazan is now trying to present herself as a “proven leader on the 2nd Amendment” this claim is clearly preposterous. In fact, in spite of these ludicrous assertions, in 2021 and 2022 Drazan stopped no anti-gun bills. Because even if she wanted to, she could not. Drazan and the other Republicans had no power to stop anything unless they walked out and denied the Democrats the quorum they needed to ram through anti-rights legislation. Which Drazan refused to do.
Everything the Democrats failed to get in 2020 was handed to them on a silver platter by Drazan in 2021. Under Drazan’s “leadership” the House Republicans stayed in the Capitol giving the Democrats the quorum they needed to pass SB 554.
Special Interest turn-coat
Christine Drazan sells herself as a tough negotiator who “took on the powerful special interests that control our state government” but even a brief review of her donors shows that she has taken thousands of dollars from those same “special interests.”
While Drazan promotes herself as someone who “took on” House Speaker Tina Kotek, the truth is she negotiated a deal that eliminated what little leverage the Republicans had left in exchange for a “promise” which, of
But even Drazan had to know that her “deal” was meaningless to begin with. Kotek is well known for backing out on promises.
But the false promise of equal representation on the redistricting committee gave Republicans no advantage anyway since the Democrats always had the power to agree to nothing and let the far left, Democrat, Secretary of State control that process.
Drazan’s sales pitch simply does not match reality.
Where Is Drazan On Illegal Immigration?
Drazan voted for HB 2359.
As noted in the Northwest Observer:
“In addition to requiring publicly reimbursed health care providers to work with a qualified or certified health care interpreter listed on OHA’s 900-plus-member central registry, the law outlines recordkeeping requirements for health care providers and interpreting service companies when they work with a health care interpreter”
The bill’s chief sponsors were mostly hard core leftists. As is so often the case, many “conservative” House members supported it.
As the Observer pointed out, “One of the organizations OHA is partnering with to eliminate barriers that prevent access to health care interpreter services is Pueblo Unido PDX. The Portland-based nonprofit connects individuals with a vulnerable immigration status in the Pacific Northwest with legal, social and Indigenous language interpretation services.”

Christine Drazan says:
“I will support law enforcement, the overwhelming majority of whom do their jobs with courage and distinction, and I will increase funding for our state troopers.”
But Drazan voted to expose our police to doxing by masked, anonymous, antifa rioters.
Drazan voted to attack the free speech of police and assume they are racist.
Christine Drazan says:
“And when Portland politicians refuse to stop the nightly riots and bring peace to the streets, as Governor, I will.”
But while violent rioters were running wild on the streets of Portland, Drazan voted to virtually ban the use of riot control devices.
After one of the House Speaker’s staff was arrested in Portland riot for interfering with a police officer, Drazan voted to make that virtually legal.

“Under my administration, the days of treating police like criminals and criminals like victims will end.”
But Drazan voted to BAN the publication of rioter’s and other criminal’s mug shots!
Christine Drazan says:
“I will stand up for parents’ rights and ensure that they have a voice in where and how their child gets an education.”
But Drazan voted to require tampons in boy’s bathrooms in PRE-SCHOOL!
In a fund raising email Drazan sent out on 5.13.2022, Drazan responded to ads criticizing her for this vote. In her email she claimed:
“I voted alongside every other Republican in the State House to provide underprivileged girls with feminine products.
A warped and radical progressive agenda–spearheaded by Kate Brown and Tina Kotek–then turned around and put feminine products into boys’ bathrooms.”
But this is a lie. The bill Drazan voted on was the “B Engrossed” version which contained the language putting tampons in little boy’s bathrooms. Here is the complete history for the vote on this demented legislation.

“As our next Governor , she will continue to challenge the status quo in Salem, to fight for what is best for working families and restore some common sense to our State Capitol.”
But Drazan voted to change the state song because it included the words “free men.”
Drazan voted to ban Columbus Day
Drazan voted for a racist bill that funded only black owned businesses.
Christine Drazan says:
“We will be done with mask mandates. We will be done with vaccine mandates.”
But she’s taken thousands from big pharma.
And while Drazan regularly reminds people that she “led” the walkout in 2020 that stopped cap and trade, mandatory vaccinations, and more gun control, she never mentions that she refused to walk out in 2021.
Could this be why?

“Growing up in rural Southern Oregon, her family was hit hard by the decline of the state’s timber industry and natural resource economy.”
But Drazan voted to add to the skyrocketing energy costs.
She voted to ban off shore drilling for American oil.
She voted to ban fracking.
She voted to restrict oil transportation through Oregon.
