There could be any number of reasons for this

Some sites e.g. Forbs are a magazine had have opted for a subscription to access their site.
some sites were dropped due to lack of funds
some sites were dropped because the owners were threatened or bribed to do so.
most frightening, some sites were dropped because people just don't care anymore.

Why is it 'facts' are something that must be hidden?

We know yahoo, Google, Microsoft, the main line media, etc. are liberal biased and do what they can along those lines.

The dangerous and scary thing is, the things that have been changed for POLITICAL reasons and has nothing to do with reality.

Take for instance:
In the 1950's and 60's 'Gay' or 'Homosexual' was listed as a mental disease.  The GAY Lobby did just that, they "LOBBIED" and through threats, intimidation, picketing and lawsuits had the definition changed.  I don't think that really changed what it is however.  More recently you could google “Gay Dictionaries” and get 20 or 30 hits.   Now If you try it, you will get none.   The words (definitions) I found there were so disgusting, so revolting, they had to get rid of the evidence.   I saved some of their definitions on my WEB site however, and on back-up, it hasn't all gone away.  Try looking up the word “felching”, or “gay definitions” or “islamic attacks since 9-11” to see what I mean by biased. Some of these sites are still available on the “dark” WEB, to prove my point.

I have recently had to mark over 100 links on my WEB site as no longer available. Facts that needed to be forgotten. 6-16-18

Most of the anti-obama sites are gone along with (files and WEB sites about Bush, Clinton, his wife, McCain, etc. See what I have found however) the information they contained, I can hardly blame them, the American voter has the political memory of a goldfish.
