The Founding Fathers wisely envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
Torrents of bad news on government spending constantly spout forth from Washington. For example, the feds recently admitted they made $247 billion in improper payments last year – with your tax dollars. Since 2004, it brings the tally to $3 trillion worth of mistakes.
It's our Elected officials, I'm talking about of course. They raise the minimum wage “while they are on the subject,” they will give themselves a [Link to article on the interenet about political pay raises disappeared] pay raise, again and again and again.
FAMs are federal law enforcement officers whose primary function is to protect commercial passenger flights by deterring and countering the risk of terrorist activity, aircraft piracy and other crimes to protect the nation's transportation infrastructure. However, a special “VIP” program launched allows members of Congress to get extra protection even though they often already travel with plenty of security paid for from the public coffer.

This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.
I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not that we deserve it.
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
“During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Death –From WIKI– Webb was found dead in his Carmichael home on December 10, 2004, with two gunshot wounds to the head. His death was ruled a suicide by the Sacramento County coroner's office.[68] After a local paper reported that he had died from multiple gunshots, the coroner's office received so many calls asking about Webb's death that Sacramento County Coroner Robert Lyons issued a statement confirming Webb had committed suicide.[69] When asked by local reporters about the possibility of two gunshots being a suicide, Lyons replied: “It's unusual in a suicide case to have two shots, but it has been done in the past, and it is in fact a distinct possibility.”
Can you guess which organization this is? Give up? Scroll down.
Did you know the average person in th e US making under $15,000 a year gives approximately $25/year to charity? Did you know the average politician/staff give 1/5 of a cent a year?
With nearly no public notice or debate, Congress on Wednesday approved legislation that critics say blesses the warrantless collection, dissemination and five-year retention of everyday Americans' phone and Internet communications.
The controversial language was quietly incorporated into
an intelligence authorization bill that passed the Senate on Tuesday and then the House on Wednesday.
Pay raises or pay-offs..
How did your social security increase work out for you this year? Was it comparable at all to the increases that Nobama gave his staff during this difficult financial period? Top pay raise of + 86% increase was to the Director of African-American Media. What the Hell is that? The guy must have done a great job doing whatever the Director of African-American Media does these days. Your tax dollars at work.

"We have to pass ObamaCare to figure out what's in it"
Uttered by "Speaker of the House", Nancy Pelosi
20 June 2017
But the tired and clichéd phrase, "We have to pass ObamaCare to figure out what's in it," uttered by then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, never rang truer than on Wednesday. That's when a decision made by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) -- with President Obama's blessing -- EXEMPTED more than 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives and thousands of Capitol Hill staff from the deep financial impact of ObamaCare.
Just like that, it was done.
The move infuriated a number of Republicans. "While the administration has handed out waiver after waiver and exemption after exemption for the well-connected in Washington, they have done nothing to lower health care costs for [U.S. families]," said Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
Camp called the OPM ruling the "latest proof" of impending failure for the reforms and pledged that Republicans would keep trying to repeal them.
Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) may have said it best: "Perhaps if White House appointees and Congress have to live under these same ObamaCare rules, things would be changed quickly for the better."
Sadly, things aren't better. In fact, come October 1, they will dramatically worsen -- when American taxpayers (those not counted among Obama's friends) will have to register with state health care exchanges.
Once ObamaCare is fully implemented, the practice of politicizing medicine will continue increasing dramatically -- impacting every man, woman and child in America.

Congressional Reform Act of 2011
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-old) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.
I'm asking each addressee to forward this to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.

Congress wants to take your 401(k) tax breaks back
October 23, 2008 · Written by Steve M ·
[Link missing here] This is unbelievable. Since Congress has totally screwed up Social Security and refuse to do a damn thing about it, now they are looking for more cash to fund their out-of-control spending. Since we know we can not depend on Social Security for our retirement, many smart investors are depending on 401(k)k accounts, IRAs and Roth IRAs.
[Link Missing]another missing link, damning evidence disappearing
All three offer tax breaks either now or in the future and get this, a couple of Democrats don’t think they are getting enough for their investment. Theirimg/src investment? They have the gall to think that $80 million in tax breaks provided to 401k investors is an investment. It’s our damn money!
[Link Missing]Hot tip goes to LGF for this one, and here is the [Link Missing]original article in Workforce Week. My emphasis added in bold.
Powerful House Democrats are eying proposals to overhaul the nation’s $3 trillion 401(k) system, including the elimination of most of the $80 billion in annual tax breaks that 401(k) investors receive.
House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-California, and Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Washington, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support, are looking at redirecting those tax breaks to a new system of guaranteed retirement accounts to which all workers would be obliged to contribute.
…
Under Ghilarducci’s [Teresa Ghilarducci, professor of economic-policy analysis at the New School for Social Research in New York] plan, all workers would receive a $600 annual inflation-adjusted subsidy from the U.S. government but would be required to invest 5 percent of their pay into a guaranteed retirement account administered by the Social Security Administration. The money in turn would be invested in special government bonds that would pay 3 percent a year, adjusted for inflation.
The current system of providing tax breaks on 401(k) contributions and earnings would be eliminated.
“I want to stop the federal subsidy of 401(k)s,” Ghilarducci said in an interview. “401(k)s can continue to exist, but they won’t have the benefit of the subsidy of the tax break.”
Under the current 401(k) system, investors are charged relatively high retail fees, Ghilarducci said.
“I want to spend our nation’s dollar for retirement security better. Everybody would now be covered” if the plan were adopted, Ghilarducci said.
It’s not your damn money to spend Ghilarducci.
The savings rate isn’t going up for the investment of $80 billion,” he [House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-Calif.] said. “We have to start to think about … whether or not we want to continue to invest that $80 billion for a policy that’s not generating what we now say it should.”
These politicians want to get their hands on your personal retirement accounts. This is money invested - 100 percent - by you and in many cases your employer. Since tax breaks are involved and the damn politicians need more money from you to give to others and spread the wealth, they clearly are considering just taking it from you.
If the tax breaks go away, employers will stop their contributions and many employees will stop investing their own money, but that’s OK, since the government will demand you invest 5 percent into government bonds administered by the Social Security Administration.
Are you kidding me?
Just wait. Do you think your Roth IRA investments will be safe from government hacks that think you don’t deserve to keep your own money? The return on your Roth IRA investments are currently 100 percent tax free, but I guaranty you that liberals will want to tax that money in the future since people will have invested and “gained more than their fair share” in the stock market.

U.S. House discuss confiscating 401(k)s, IRAs
Democratic leaders in the U.S. House discuss confiscating 401(k)s, IRAs
Can you believe this?? Send this to the democratic azz holes you know, I would provide a link but put the whole top line in google, it is much more dramatic to see this story in 50 different places. It is not a joke or a rumor. Congress has used the SS as a slush fund for years and now it is empty.
RALEIGH - Democrats in the U.S. House have been conducting hearings on proposals to confiscate workers' personal retirement accounts - including 401(k)s and IRAs - and convert them to accounts managed by the Social Security Administration.
Triggered by the financial crisis the past two months, the hearings reportedly were meant to stem losses incurred by many workers and retirees whose 401(k) and IRA balances have been shrinking rapidly.
The testimony of Teresa Ghilarducci, professor of economic policy analysis at the New School for Social Research in New York, in hearings Oct. 7 drew the most attention and criticism. Testifying for the House Committee on Education and Labor, Ghilarducci proposed that the government eliminate tax breaks for 401(k) and similar retirement accounts, such as IRAs, and confiscate workers' retirement plan accounts and convert them to universal Guaranteed Retirement Accounts (GRAs) managed by the Social Security Administration.
I'm guessing they have no doubt exempted themselves from this, they wouldn't want any mismanagement of their fat retirements. Jesse Jackson suggested something like this when he ran for president..
Politicians feel Themselves Elitist
03-05-16
I know I have said it dozens of times and have even dedicated this WEB site to the problem of corrupt, self-serving, elitist politicians. They even admitted to it, a few years ago. They spend so much wasted time with so called "work" they don't realize how pointless it all is. They control nothing yet they think they are superior to everyone else. Let me qualify that by saying there are a few people in there with integrity, but I couldn't be sure.
In 1960 in an essay by Senator William Fulbright (Founder of the Fulbright Scholarships) entitled The Elite and the Electorate.
Fulbright was a pillar of the American liberal establishment and an honored lecturer at the Council on Foreign Relations. His thesis was that common people are incapable of self rule because they do not have the aptitude, the knowledge, nor even the interest in acquiring the knowledge required for decisions on matters of state. Therefore, he argued, there always must be a ruling class, an elite segment of society to execute the task of leadership. The masses may be encouraged to believe they are in charge via the electoral process, but the reality is that a small group will run everything of importance.
Fulbright made the analogy of a passenger ship on which there are two classes of people: The passengers and the crew. The passengers decide where they want the ship to go, but the crew is in charge of getting it there. Once the passengers decide on the destination, they are well advised to leave the machinery and navigation to the crew which has specialized knowledge of such matters.
It seemed a strong argument in favor of a ruling class that is left alone to perform its specialized tasks but which is subservient to the citizens-at-large regarding political destinations and principles.
The flaw was so huge and so simple that you cannot see it unless you back away from the theory and look at the practice. The flaw is that Fulbright was lying. He advocated that the passengers determine the destination of the ship but, in actual practice, he and his Establishment minions wanted the crew to determine everything, including the destination. They talked the line of limited government because it got them elected but, once in office, they immediately took charge of all aspects of the voyage, including its destination.
1957 Ayn Rand
"When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that maoney is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - You may know that your society is doomed." Atlas Shrugged, 1957

How Many Members Of The U.S. Congress Are Self-Declared Socialists?
Updated for the 111th Congress
The following FAQ will help clarify a few facts:
Q: What is the Socialist International?
A: It is the worldwide organization of socialist, social democratic and labor parties. It currently brings together 131 political parties and organizations from all continents. Its origins go back to the early international organizations of the labor movement of the last century.* It has existed in its present form since 1951, when it was re-established at the Frankfurt Congress. They are now headquartered in London, England
* In 1864, representatives of English and French industrial workers founded the International Workingmen's Association in London. Karl Marx, who was living in London at the time, became the First International's dominant figure. Marx's doctrines were revived in the 20th century by Russian revolutionary Vladimir Ilich Lenin, who developed and applied them – and we all know that what was started as a labor movement ended up as the biggest totalitarian/communist state, i.e., the USSR.
Q: What is the Democratic Socialists of America [DSA]?
A: It is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. Their website is [WEB site is there, that particular article isn't] "http://www.dsausa.org">http://www.dsausa.org/dsa.html
Q: What are seven principles behind what the DSA's calls it's "Progressive Challenge?"
Dignified Work
Environmental Justice
Economic Redistribution
Democratic Participation
Community Empowerment
Global Non-Violence
Social Justice.
Never mind their soothing-sounding leftist doublespeak like 'Environmental Justice' (whatever that is supposed to mean) or the soft & fuzzy 'Global Non-Violence' (a euphemism for unilateral disarmament) — the DSA's self-declared principle of 'Economic Redistribution' clearly shows where these folks are coming from and exactly where they plan to take America.
Q: How many members of the U.S. Congress are also members of the DSA?
A: Seventy!
Q: How many of the DSA members sit on the Judiciary Committee?
A: Eleven: John Conyers [Chairman of the Judiciary Committee], Tammy Baldwin, Jerrold Nadler, Luis Gutierrez, Melvin Watt, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, Steve Cohen, Barbara Lee, Robert Wexler, Linda Sanchez [there are 23 Democrats on the Judiciary Committee of which eleven, almost half, are now members of the DSA].
